Gennady Nikolaevich Bogdanov

Gennady Nikolaevich Bogdanov is graduated as an actor from Russian University of Theatre Arts (GITIS) in 1972.

In the same year he joined the company of the Theatre of the Satire of Moscow where he worked as an actor for 20 years.

At the same theatre he became the student of Master Nikolai Kustov (actor and instructor of theatrical biomechanics worked with Meyerhold till 1938).


Inherited the tradition of the Theatrical Biomechanics of Meyerhold, used as a basis of his work in the theatre, Master Bogdanov decide to dedicate his artistic life to theatrical biomechanics.

 

That is why he starts to work at the Russian University of Theatre Arts first as a professor and then as a founder and director of International School of Theatrical Biomechanics.

From 1979 to 1990 he was a stuntman and choreographer of stage acts at major Soviet and then Russian film production companies.

Starting from 1991 Master Bogdanov makes known Theatrical Biomechanics all over the world through the demonstrations, conferences and workshops (Austria, Australia, Brazil, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, France , Wales, Germany, England, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, USA, etc)

Since 1991 collaborates with the Mime Centrum of Berlin and with Drama School Ernst Busch.

Since 1991 he is teaching Theatrical Biomechanics of Meyerhold in Italy, working among others with Academy of Dramatic Art “Silvio d’Amico”, Teatro Tascabile of Bergamo, University Theater Center of Perugia and Milan, “La Sapienza” University of Rome, University of Siena/Arezzo and of Salerno and Experimental School of the Actor of Pordenone.

As a director he worked in Italy, USA, Germany, France, England and Russia.

Since 1996 he collaborates with ISTA (International School of Theatrical Anthropology) directed by Eugenio Barba, with “Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards Workcentre” of Wrozlaw and Pontedera.

Since 2004  he is founder and pedagogical director of the (CISBiT) Centro Internazionale Studi di Biomeccanica Teatrale of Perugia.

 

Master Bogdanov is present in the Theatrical Anthropology dictionary "The Secret Art of the Performer" E.Barba - N.Savarese, published in various languages, as a successor to Theatrical Biomechanics of Meyerhold.

Claudio Massimo Paterno

Claudio Massimo Paternò

Claudio Massimo Paternò is actor, director and pedagogue. He graduates as an actor from the University Theater Center / Teatro Stabile dell'Umbria in Perugia.


He works as an actor alternating productions for children with productions for adults.


He collaborates with the Fontemaggiore Theater Production Center, CRT in Milan, Perduta Academy, Cà Luogo d'arte, Umbrian Figure Theater and Rakurs Theater in Brazil.

He directs workshops and courses in Meyerhold Theater Biomechanics in different parts of the world (Italy, Brazil, Turkey).

He is a guest at the University of Aarhus (Denmark), University of Rome La Sapienza, the University of Arezzo, Federal University of Porto Alegre (Brazil), the International Festival of the Actor (Naples) and National Congress UILT of Milan.

He has directed over 50 productions and his shows have won national and international awards:

 

“Le fate della notte”” get 3 nominations (best text, performance and production) at the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival; 
“Terremoto” won "Nutrimento emergenze contemporanee 2009" award in Terni;
prize for best monologue "Giovani Realtà del Teatro 2009" in Udine and get a second place in the national competition "MarteLive 2010" in Rome; 
“L’Arte della fuga” won “In-Itinere 2011" award in Marsciano (Pg);

In 2003 he specializes at “International school of Theatrical Biomechanics of Mime Centrum of Berlin”.


In 2004 he has founded the (CISBiT) Centro Internazionale Studi di Biomeccanica Teatrale of Perugia with Master Bogdanov.


Since 2005 he has been artistic director of “Micro Teatro Terra Marique” and artistic coordinator of Perugia branch of “Centro Umbro Residenze Artistiche CURA”.


In 2006 he is the editor of Italian translation of monographic “Meyerhold“ by B. Picon - Vallin, adopted in various courses in Italy, in collaboration with prof. Fausto Malcovati (University of Milan).


In 2017 he is the author of “Manual of Theatrical Biomechanics of Meyerhold ideas, principles, training” ed.Audino Editore.
